Sunsail Racing

For the launch of Sunsail Racing, Sunsail decided to modernise the fleet of one-designs – the largest in the world – and to replace its current fleet of 60 yachts by real seafaring thoroughbreds: the First 40.

Sunsail’s choice is chiefly based on the already impressive record of this boat. Designed by Farr Yacht Design, the First 40 is the ideal yacht for ocean racing. Moreover, it was voted “Boat of the year” by the American Sailing World magazine. Sleek and high-performing, it appeals both to seasoned and less seasoned sailors.

The first SUNSAIL RACING centre :
The First Sunsail Racing centre is located in Port Solent, near Portsmouth, and is ideal for sailing around the Isle of Wight, an important international site for yacht racing. Particularly well sheltered, this sailing area is highly suited to the organization of races and training sessions all year round.

What SUNSAIL RACING has to offer :
Sunsail Racing is aimed at a wide public: plain crewmen, regatta racers between friends, in a club or within the context of a company for team building campaigns, etc.
Sunsail Racing can offer solutions adapted to any project. Take part in Cowes Week on board the First 40, an important event uniting up to 100 yachts, join in the Easter Rally round the Isle of Wight, be at the starting line of the “Industry Sailing Challenge” or organize a tailor-made regatta for a weekend, etc. Sunsail Racing Team will take care of the First 40s’ preparation and the organization of your stay – registration fees, race assistance, etc.
